APA Boot Camp

Building Support for Planning

Starting November 2011, through January 2012, the American Planning Association will be launching an intensive communications boot camp designed specifically for planners to build public support, counter critics and reframe the value of planning in your community.  Planners encounter a variety of challenges
including ideological attacks on planning, constrained budgets and a difficult
economic and political climate.  Based on the insights and expertise of
Robin Rather of Collective Strength, Axiom Communications and experienced local professionals, this series will include webinars, how-to resources,
case-studies and online training materials to provide tools to our members -
everything you need to be an effective champion in your community.  This
series will empower and support planners as effective messengers and
advocates.
