Registration open for 2015 annual conference “Rural Spaces and Urban Places”

Planners, colleagues, and friends,

Registration is now open for the 8th annual APA Idaho Conference “Rural Spaces and Urban Places – Charting the Future of Idaho”. The conference will be held in Sandpoint Idaho October 7th-9th at the Sandpoint Center, located at 414 Church Street.

The Conference committee has been hard at work to bring you a diverse schedule of both rural and urban sessions that will provide AICP certificate maintenance credits. The final details of the program are still in the works, but we will be sending that to you soon.

Attendees can register via paper registration found online, or online by clicking HERE.

A charter bus service is available to provide round-trip service from four locations to Sandpoint on Wednesday, October 7 (How fun is that)? The bus has a seating capacity of 47 and will be available by reservation only. The bus is equipped with a restroom and has Wi-Fi service. You can bring food and beverages on the bus.

The bus will promptly leave the following locations:

* Eagle (Guerber Park, 2200 Hill Rd.): 4:50 a.m. M.T. $100
* McCall (Parking Lot Behind Paul’s Market): 7:00 a.m. M.T. $75
* Lewiston (Casino Parking Lot): 9:30 a.m. P.T. $45
* Moscow (Transit Center): 10:15 a.m. P.T. $35

This year we will again offer a discounted rate ($130) for planning commissioners and elected officials who wish to attend, So please pass this information along to those groups.

To make your hotel reservation, contact the La Quinta Inn Sandpoint (1-866-527-1498) no later than September 30th, 2015. Please mention “American Planning Association” (Reservation Block #3185415554) to get the discounted room rate of $59/night. A block of rooms has been reserved, and the hotel will honor the rate as long as rooms are available.
