AICP Exam – application window is now open for the May 2015 exam
Taking the AICP Comprehensive Planning Examination is the first step to becoming a certified planner. To qualify, one must be a current APA member, submit an online application meeting certain education and experience criteria, and pass an examination. Go to: https://www.planning.org/certification/ for more details and open an application. The application deadline is December 30, 2015 for the May 5-8, 2015 testing window.

Scholarships for a reduced exam fee are available
APA Idaho is awarded one scholarship to an exam candidate who has a financial need. Scholarship recipients pay reduced fees to AICP as follows: first time AICP applicants: $145 (combined $70 application and $75 exam fee), and previously approved AICP applicants: $75 (exam fee only).

Applicants must submit a written explanation of financial hardship (including financial hardship caused by a budget cutback in a firm or agency) to Diane Kushlan, Chapter PDO, dkushlan@fiberpipe.net by January 15, 2015. The guidelines for selection set by AICP are: the applicant’s employer will not subsidize the exam fee; the applicant would not otherwise take the exam without the reduced fee; and preference is given to minorities. Selection will be made by January 30, 2015. Awarding of a scholarship does not guarantee that a recipient will be approved to take the AICP Exam. Questions or need more information? Contact Diane.
